Test Lead 

Role purpose The Test Lead role will be responsible for leading all aspects of testing within the projects assigned primarily 5 Minute Settlement program, reporting to the QA and Testing Manager, working within Agile and Waterfall projects to successfully estimate, plan, execute and report on all testing activities carried out in the project.


The Test Lead will be a good leader, team player and passionate about driving quality outcomes for the business, identifying opportunities for improvement and driving the quality agenda in the project. The Test Lead will have experience in Energy and Utilities sector, ideally on MDMS(meter Data Management) system and will be able to quickly learn and understand the AusNet MDMS system

Individual accountabilities
·         Lead test team

·         Test strategy, test planning and task allocation

·         Lead Triage meetings

·         Test reporting

·         Ensure the test team outputs adhere to organizational Testing Quality Standards and Procedures

·         Work within a team of business and technical stakeholders to provide testing services across various stages of continual delivery

·         Adhere to organizational Testing Quality Standards and Procedures

·         Provide inputs to Test Strategies and Test Plans for the different Program Increments, Sprints and Test Cycles of the projects and BAU releases as required

·         Work with Application Owners, Solution Architects and Subject Matter Experts to define the scope of testing and approach

·         Ensure all test documentation and products used in the testing activities are of the highest quality to ensure traceability, and correctness

·         Design Test Cases, Test Plan and Execute them

·         Document defects in HP Quality Center for resolution and work with stakeholders to perform retesting where required

·         Report on test design and execution progress, defects status and resolution

·         Provide quality metrics advising of any quality related issues and risks

·         Participate in team meetings including stand-ups and other Agile ceremonies to provide insights on testing progress and any blockers encountered

·         Provide inputs into Acceptance Criteria of stories and requirements

·         Define testing specific stories to be completed and demonstrated within the Sprints

·         Demonstrate culture of Built-in Quality

·         Provide inputs to Test Management processes and practices for continuous improvement

·         Assist with JIRA and HPQC administration tasks as required

·         Experience of leading test teams for at least one project

·         7+ years of Testing in Energy sector, especially on Compliance programs.

·          Meter Data Management System experience a  added advantage

·         Utilities Test Experience is a must

·         Demonstrated self-motivation and initiative on previous projects

·         Highly effective and strong communication skills for engaging stakeholder management (From Program and Project Managers to Application Owners and SME’s) to deliver quality results within expected timeframes

·         Sound knowledge of HP Quality Center

·         Sound knowledge of JIRA



·         SAFe practitioner Certification

·         Sound knowledge of metering related processes, applications and test tools
